Keep it up!
Just thought I'd mention that I've heard that swimming isn't all that great for weight loss specifically. It's great for strength and general health, just not particularly weight loss. Go figure. Variety works wonders, so you might want to try frequently switching up the resistance (and duration) of your rides. And if you can stand it, cycling before breakfast will really drop the pounds.
From what i've read and trainers i've talked with. The ultimate objective in swimming is to increase lung capacity, and physical endurance. Swimming builds muscle, and lung capacity. So when you get good at swimming, other sports or activities which involve physical endurance will not phase you nearly as much. Also, swimming is less destructive on your joints if you are a heavy set individual than most other exercises. Personally, my favorite machine to use is a "Life Fitness Elliptical machine"
It's meant to be hard! That's why it's fun!
